EGBA Opposes Belgium Casino Proposal

The theme right now for online casinos all over the world is heavily weighted down by the lack of, or presence of, regulations and restrictions. No matter which country you focus in upon, they are on one side of the fence or the other. And now it seems that the European Gaming and Betting Association has come down on the same side as the European Commission in regard to their rejection of what Belgium has proposed for their online casino industry. Apparently there are key provisions that serve as an effort to limit the internet casino gaming that takes place in the nation of Belgium to operations that are based in that same country. And this is in direct violation of certain trade laws that are in place for European Union member countries.

Who knows what will become of the online casinos in Belgium, but one thing is for sure and that is that they are facing some big heated opposition to what they are trying to accomplish right now. An official from the European Gaming and Betting Association has indicated that what Belgium has proposed goes directly against the European Commission treaty provisions and that they will not let this proposal advance. What the provision does that is so shameless is that it cuts out any internet casino operator that is established in another European Union member nation.

And this does not hold water for many other countries that are interested in bringing their casino gaming products into the Belgium market. And since it has been heartily proven that it is possible to have solid regulation and a competitive field of gambling entities coexisting in the market while the highest standards for consumer protection remain in place, there is no sound argument for Belgium to fire back with.

New Zealanders Opt For Offshore Gambling

Not everyone is completely satisfied with how the business of online casinos has been going along within the nation of New Zealand. It seems that a great many online casino gamers are choosing to visit gambling sites that are based in foreign countries as opposed to those that are based in their own country. This has a negative impact on the national economy, and at a time when many countries all around the world are struggling to keep their financial situation from drowning in despair, this is a key issue that has cropped up among concerned businessmen and women.

Some parents in New Zealand are also greatly concerned with the quantity of hours that their children are spending at online casinos and other gambling sites. They have committed themselves to pushing for different research enterprises to get to the bottom of the issue so that it can hopefully at some point in the future be resolved. Of course, this is not as easy as it looks. The gamblers and casino and poker gamers who are venturing out to foreign gaming sites are spending upwards of $2.1 billion each and every year as they patronize these different sites. What a bunch of turncoats! That is a huge amount of money.

This is considerably sticky because many of the casino gaming sites that are located offshore are not held to the same rules and regulations and standards as the ones that are based inside New Zealand. And of course, these same concerns are very similar to the ones that Representative Barney Frank has been hemming and hawing about to congress for a very long time now. Who knows whether or not he will succeed, but in many nations, the future of their economy depends upon getting something solid nailed down to protect and preserve their domestic online gambling business.

Newbie Roulette Player Scores Big

It doesn’t take an expert to walk away a winner at online casinos. Sometimes beginner’s luck is carried along with just enough momentum to deliver an impossibly large win to some random unsuspecting newbie. And needless to say, the rest of the online casino community watches this sort of event transpire with a certain level of scorn and disdain. How can they not?

They try their hardest day in and day out and sometimes someone comes along to prove that it can be as simple as a one-cent bet that will result in an absolute windfall of cash raining down on a player who is brand new to the world of online casinos. Well, this time around this sort of phenomenon took place at CasinoAction.com and the winner was a relatively new-to-the-scene player from the Netherlands. The casino player managed to score an impressive $505,000 just a few days ago from a game of roulette.

Yes, roulette. Some people are under the impression that roulette is not where the money is at, but if you can get in on some stellar progressive jackpot roulette, well, then that surely changes the outcome of the story in a big, big way. And this player scored that incredible sum after spending a mere 40 dollars of his own money before leaving the scene as an amazing winner. Sometimes beginners luck can really come through for some people. I wish I were that lucky. Instead, I guess I will have to wait my turn and just keep on trying, going for glory at my favorite casino games.

Casinos Not Tied To Money Laundering

With all of the constant criticism that is circling around the media and the government in regard to the inherent evils of online casinos in America, it seems that some of the myths about internet gambling are being proven to be quite false. The most recent instance of this came about thanks to a new report made public thanks to the Remote Gaming Association. People have often said in the past that online casino gambling serves as a sort of stepping stone to money laundering-related crime. But the report recently released points out that that particular assertion is mere hogwash.

Online casinos apparently do not change the amount of cases of money laundering and terrorist financing in the least. The correlation between the two things is not strong in any particular way no matter which region you are focusing on. And the report also mentions the strong commitment the casino and gambling industry has shown in regard to preventing this sort of crime and protecting their loyal legions of gamers from it as well. It does not serve internet casinos in any way to be tied to such sort of criminal acts.

Online casino operators are for the most part widely know for being in full cooperation with the authorities when it comes to legislation and requirements related to the regulations that are in place for them. Of course, that does not mean that this particular industry is immune to the woes of different criminal elements from time to time, but compared to other markets, it is not in any way more prone to getting caught up in any sort of terrorist financing or money laundering schemes.

It seems like there is yet another important business collaboration in the world of online casinos that has sent everybody into a frenzy of excitement. This time the bond was forged between Playtech, one of the online casino software developer heavyweights and NetPlayTV plc, an AIM-listed firm that has already proved itself in many ways since it was first established. The partnership is initially scheduled to run for about five years and during that time, NetPlay will be bringing their specialty of live interactive television gambling into the realm of internet casinos.

The company will be pushing into the market of interactive online casinos to the delight of internet gambling fanatics everywhere. Such wildly popular gaming destinations such as Bingos.com, EuroTeleMillions and Supercasino.com will be able to take full advantage of this new business relationship. And everyone who is invested in either site of this partnership is super optimistic and thrilled with all of the potential that lies ahead of them.

For its part of the bargain, Playtech will end up having their licensees gain full access to the live gaming products that NetPlay has become highly respected for in the casino gambling industry. For both parties, it is a very wonderful win-win situation. This partnership means that NetPlay will be able to increase their potential for growth in super substantial ways thanks to a huge supply of funds coming from the sale of shares. Of course, there is plenty of great things in store for NetPlay beyond all of this including access to the suite of casino gaming products that Playtech is known for among industry insiders such as mobile device games, poker, bingo, TV and casino games galore.

Chinese Censorship Halted Temporarily

With all the controversy that the Chinese government has managed to stir up with their recent threatening plans of installing censorship-wielding software onto every single computer that gets made in the country, it seems that the air is gently being let out of that particular balloon. One of the biggest goals of this plan was to curb activity at online casinos for Chinese citizens. But now it appears that the plan has been put on hold. Who knows how long this holding pattern will last, but this development has given concerned online casino gamers a respite from the worry and mourning period they had already become engaged in over this sad, sad story.

It was a Chinese company that was responsible for creating this magical new software system that is supposed to help bring Chinese society a reprieve from the horrible atrocities associated with online casinos and the rest of the internet gambling world. But many people all around the world have spoken out with highly critical declarations stating that this is a huge breach of basic human rights and that censorship like this should not be supported in any nation.

The goal is to protect the Chinese citizenry from whatever the government may deem unsuitable material but that is a highly subjective term and internet casinos are a pretty benign force compared to many other online destinations that people could be busy accessing. Everyone around the world is hoping that this movement to censor what people can access from their very own personal computer does not progress forward in any way since it would be a horrible affront to the notions of basic human rights. Casino gaming is not the devil, people!
